What is Environmental Justice 

Environmental Justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies.

PURE is addressing Ecological Justice through the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #13

PURE PARTICIPATES IN UNITED NATIONS COP 21 IN PARIS FRANCE #PARISAGREEMENT 

Rashad Grimes of Alabama State University and Antionette Fowlkes of Alabama A&M University participated in the COP 21 Climate Change Summit in Paris, France. These students are apart of a HBCU Climate Change Consortium’s delegation to the conference organized by the Deep South Center For Environmental Justice. Rashad and Antionette participated on an NAACP HBCU panel making the connections between Climate Change and Black Lives Matter.

PURE currently works with both students at Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University.
